Lianne Smith's music dispenses with a panoramic shot in favor of zooming in on the bee and flower.
Grown-up songs about architecture, thieves, bicycles, the end of summer, and two roads that diverge in a wood.
Thursday, July 24th; 7-9:30 Jim "Mad Ripple" Walsh's Hootenanny night Banjo Jim's -- 700 E. 9th Street (Corner of 9th & C)
I'll be playing round-robin style with Amanda Thorpe and Debby Schwartz. It's a casual, down-home affair. You can come as you are and then come and go as you please. No cover for the hoot this time around! Do you have a request? Let me know when you get there................

Recently, we had the pleasure of opening for Nada Surf at their sold-out Bowery Ballroom show. Check out this video that someone posted on YouTube. We don't know the person who made the video, but the song (The Film Did Not Go 'Round) was written by Greg. Matthew Caws and I recorded it and it's included on the new Nada Surf CD called Lucky (reviewed here by Jon Pareles in NYT.
"Standing Above the Stars" which Lianne sang with Rosine (and earlier Shackwacky),
was used in the movie Dead Girl.
